On September 12, APPMA co-sponsored the Tenth Annual "Pet Night on Capitol Hill". The primary sponsor, Animal Health Institute, in conjunction with its members and 9 additional sponsors invited members of Congress and their staff to a reception celebrating the human-animal bond.  Among the more than 600 people in attendance were 8 members of Congress as well as two celebrity pets, Twister, the Jailhouse Dog in the “Pirates of the Caribbean” and Nile, the feline star of “Catwoman”. Three of APPMA’s staff members and two board members were also in attendance to celebrate America’s pets.

APPMA’s New Webcast Series
As part of a developing education program for APPMA members, the Association launched a series of Webcasts beginning in September. These interactive webcasts allow participants to follow along with the speakers’ slide presentations on their own computers. All webcasts are archived and available for viewing should members not have an opportunity to participate at the scheduled time. The following webcasts were held already this fall and participation was free for APPMA members.
